• Prepare a strategy for implementing e-government in Nebraska
  Status: Included in the Statewide Technology Plan
  Activities:
  1. NOL is redesigning the state's home page to achieve a user-friendly portal.
  2. Government Technology Collaboration Fund grants and State Record Board grants
  3. NITC Technical Panel has established a work group on security policies and architecture
  4. NITC Technical Panel will evaluate the state's technical infrastructure for e-government
  5. Legislation (LB 628 Section 4 allows agencies to use PINS and passwords)

• Establish working groups on special topics to recommend strategies, actions, and encourage collaboration

  Activities:

• Recognize and define relationship with existing collaboration groups

• Support eGovernment conferences to inform management of state and local government about providing services electronically
  Status: Accepted as an initiative that has been completed

  1. First e-government conference, 9/30/99 to 10/1/99

• Establish IT training working group to develop strategies and promote IT training and educational opportunities for users and IT professionals within state government
