Nebraska submits eHealth plans

Revised strategic and operational eHealth plans were approved by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT on Nov. 5, 2010. Nebraska was the 11th state to have its plans approved. The operational and strategic plans will guide the implementation of Nebraska's State HIE Cooperative Agreement. The plans will be revised annually. New survey shows 28% of Nebraska physicians have EHRs

On Jan. 13, 2011, the Office of the National Coordinator released survey data showing that approximately 28% of office-based physicians and 9% of acute care non-federal hospitals in Nebraska have at least a basic EHR in place.


Brochure addresses health information security and privacy

A new consumer brochure (pdf) addresses questions and concerns about health information security and privacy. The brochure was developed by the eHealth Council's Health Information Security and Privacy Committee.


Report examines views of Nebraskans on sharing health records electronically

The University of Nebraska Public Policy Center, in cooperation with the NITC’s eHealth Council, conducted a survey and Deliberative Discussion on sharing health records on November 17, 2008.   “Sharing Health Records Electronically: The Views of Nebraskans” finds that Nebraskans have positive views about electronically sharing medical information.
